| for some odd reason i'm in the mood to.... xanga! i'm kind of rusty, so bear with me. at least i have an exciting story!

suddenly the alarms went off, the lights started flashing and we heard that voice from above: "code red, 3 south. code red, 3 south."
fyi: code red = fire. lab = 2nd floor.
looks like it's: rachel to the rescue!!
[audrey took pictures afterwards to prove it]
before i left, wilson told me to grab a fire extinguisher. however, each glass case i went to was locked. i would have to break the glass in order to get to it. so he said to break it.
no, i didn't listen to him.
i found a case that had it's glass already broken and the latch was open so i grabbed the red weapon and raced out. now, the fire extinguisher looked small. looks can be deceiving, not only with food, books & boys, but with red objects as well. it was wayyyyy heavier than i thought!
as i ran down the hallways my mind was racing. what should i do when i get there?
then i remembered: PASS. we're not talking about emitting any bodily fluids [although i worked with some this week] or cutting someone in line. this is important stuff that YOU should know!
P-pull A-aim S-squeeze S-sweep

and that, my friend, is how to properly use the fire extinguisher!
by the time i got to the stairs i realized i was right behind the big guns. the big boys. the real deal. yup, the firemen had already arrived.
so, there i was chugging up the stairs with my little red extinguisher right behind a fully armed fireman who was lugging around an extinguisher 10 times the size of my own.
i looked kind of silly behind him. actually, really silly. like my little red was going to be of any help to his big red.
nonetheless, we both reached 3 south and assessed the damage.
it turned out to be an electrical fire and not a disgruntled patient trying to smoke in the bathroom.
truth be told, there were many other people who looked like me, your average joe/jane worker with their personal sized little red fire extinguishers ready to save the day. just like me. another kodak moment.
well, since the big guys were better equipped, we all, single file, left with our red metal friend in hand. it was almost like the walk of shame. haaa ha. oh well, i had fun running around & got paid doing it.

what a day!
let's just hope they don't call code-dr.armstrong anytime soon... we'll save that for another day!

| hypothetical questions here.
don't you think that two weeks is too soon to ask someone to go out? this also makes it even weirder if you're going to be working with them all year.
too soon. so soon, especially after just being in a relationship with someone for almost 1/6th of your life.
i'd rather do the: better late than never deal.
get to know me first before you say you like me! how many people do i have to teach that to? honestly, how many?
early morning ponderings of a confused soul.

| my fruit-blend was ice frozen tonight. why?
i guess some things can not be explained!
so that's why i have mango sorbet in my freezer, yanno, my back-up plan. you always have to have a plan B!

| updates:
i made a mold of my teeth! like every single one of them. how cool is that? so i played dentist yesterday and they even had pink gloves. it was kinda gross with all the clay-gelatin stuff in my mouth. yuck. and when we were pulling out the bottoms i think we left them in for too long because they were hurting. and as we were pulling the bottom mold off i thought my whole jaw was going to come off with it!
i get to see my mold on sunday. i'm so excited!!! i never wanted to be a dentist in my life. i mean, if i had to, i wouldn't mind. i don't think i ever want to... but it was fun for a while.
in other news...
it's kinda weird when your friend's mom is trying to hook you guys up. it's even weirder when he's in the house... like 20 feet away.
whoa. that was awkward.
shopping at university park mall has gotten better. the limited is having a sale and there are cool dresses at banana. with sephora, forever 21, aldo, coach, and the body shop... life is pretty much exciting.
say big prayers on the 23rd. my friend gets to take a big test. oh, and also for the 6th of sept. another friend takes a big test.
i've been reading good books. summer books. the kind you don't have to really analyze. and 2 more books came for me today. amazon.com and barnes are my 5th & 6th best friends.
tonight at 8 pm my best friend is going to call me from across the world. i wouldn't miss it for anything.
i haven't xanga-ed in a longgggg time. now i remember why. ha.
well, that's all i have to say for now.

| scissors. whoa, that last entry. that was pretty intense. to tell you the truth, i didn't even read what it said. i read the first few words...
see, what happened was... there is this thing called MSN. i was chatting with my friend. there's this option where you can play games with them. so, we played paper, rock, & scissors. and it just happened to be the same day that my scrapbooking scissors were found! all 8 of them.
so, we were in a scissors mood. and then... i guess i found this posting on scissors. i copied and pasted and sha-bam. here it is. on my xanga.
anyways, haha. sorry if i made anyone scared. ha. i'm not mean like scissors.
i have four more weeks of clinicals!!!
rachel
